My future goal: Being able to travel the world often and to take my photography work with me to beautiful places and landscapes, to shoot Elopements and Destination Weddings.

Jen’s Story & Mission.

I have always been very visually creative. When I was a child I would constantly be drawing princesses in pretty dresses. As I grew older my creativity grew. I studied art and design throughout school and into college. My favourite form of art was painting, specifically landscapes, space inspired scenes and pop culture related art.

After college I wasn't sure on what I wanted to do as a career so I decided to not go to Uni and spent a couple of years in the hospitality industry. Working full time in a busy pub environment,  meeting new people everyday really helped grow my confidence and gave me time to have a good think about what I wanted to do as a career. I started to feel like I was loosing my creativity and I was getting more and more doubtful about the possibility of working in a creative job to make a living.

When my boyfriend- Callan (who was already a videographer) got asked to photograph a friends wedding a thought popped into my head. " What if I become a wedding photographer?"

I thought over it, and eventually, after too much overthinking, I decided to give it a go!

I brought my camera, taught myself the skills of using a camera and started learning about how to grow a photography business. The idea of wedding photography really started to get exciting and I started to feel like my creative self again.

I shot my first wedding  a couple of weeks after buying my camera in April 2022. After photographing this wedding I was hooked! I realised that this is what I wanted to do and ever since that moment I have constantly been busy with weddings, photoshoots, building my website/portfolio and overall growing this business into something I can be proud of.

Why Weddings?

It is so beautiful to be a part of someones day, to witness all the love and happiness that the couple is feeling. Being able to capture all of those moments so the couple have the memories to look back on and to cherish is so special. It truly is the best job in the world.

As a little girl I was so captivated with weddings. I would always draw wedding dresses, marry my barbies off dozens of time's and dream of what my wedding would be like. It's funny how life plays out.

What's My Photography Style?

I am a documentary wedding photographer which means I like to capture all the candid/ real moments, so if you are not a huge fan of forced poses this style of photography is for you. My work combines the natural documentary approach with creativity and an artistic flair.

I am a very relaxed and calm photographer. I am quiet and discrete when I need to be but always right by your side throughout your day to lend a helping hand and to get any shots you desire.

I simply let you do your thing and capture all the laughter, hugs, love and tears and you won't even realise.

However please don't confuse my relaxed personality to mean I don't care for producing amazing and timeless photos. I'm quite the opposite! I pay so much attention to detail, I listen to you and I put my energy into making sure I deliver you the best possible photos.

I will also help direct you into any poses when it comes to taking family photos and couple portrait photos so you don't need to worry about standing there looking like a melon! I have got it all under control.

At the end of the night when the party's in full swing I love getting in the middle of the dance floor to get the best up close, fun and real photos of you partying and living your best life.

My aim of your day is to make sure I capture all the beautiful moments and make you feel as comfortable and stress free as I can.

How do I edit?

After the wedding I will get straight into editing your photos.

I take a lot of time and care in this process and I draw inspiration from the look of film photography. I love the colourful, faded, warm and timeless style which I believe gives a nostalgic feel that not only looks good but is emotive and tells a story.

Cal’s Story & Mission.

I have always been interested in creating and documenting stories. Looking back at when I was a child I would make stop-motion videos using my lego Star Wars figures and would create stories based on the characters. When I was 17 I studied film & media at college and began practicing with using a camera to create videos. I also took course in acting which further developed my storytelling skills. It wasn’t until lockdown when I started taking photography and videography more seriously and would take my camera on our daily lockdown walks, taking photos of the wildlife we would come across. After lockdown I started doing video work for bands and musicians and created music videos for artists such as: Jamie Bower, The Clause and many more. Fast forward a year and we shoot our first wedding together. Jen then started building ‘Captured Moments’ starting off as just a wedding photography business. I then decided that I would like to be a part of it to help capture and create couples love stories. So there we have it!

Why Weddings?

I love being able to tell couple’s love stories through the lens of my camera. Making them artistic, creative and emotive videos that they can then look back on to remember every detail of their day fills me with joy.

What's My Videography Style?

When it comes to capturing the magic of weddings, I am drawn to a cinematic approach that weaves together intricate details and heartfelt moments. From the delicate brush of a bride's veil against her cheek to the tender embrace of a couple during their first dance, every frame tells a story. Through the lens of my camera, I strive to create a visual narrative that encapsulates the emotions, the laughter, and the unspoken promises exchanged on that special day. It's not just about documenting the event; it's about crafting a masterpiece that will transport the couple and their loved ones back to the very essence of their celebration.

How do I edit?

For the edit, I take inspiration from the vintage, film look and like to piece the clips together in a way that tells a story of not just your wedding day but your journey as a couple.
